Unlimited Alternatives is an anonymous Peer Run Drop-In Center whose mission is to empower community members experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns by providing peer support, connections to community resources, and encouragement to achieve personal goals.
Peer-run drop-in centers across the state provide services to address the social and emotional needs of people with mental health disabilities and co-occurring disorders. The focus of a drop-in center is to help participants increase their overall quality of life, decrease isolation, gain insight, and to develop coping strategies to help manage their challenging circumstances.
UA is a place that provides encouragement to individuals coping with mental illness to interact and participate while supporting each other in their personal mental health. We provide an atmosphere of calm, relaxing and non–judgmental acceptance.
The primary purpose of UA is to provide a safe and social atmosphere that will empower all participants while instilling hope for a brighter future and creating opportunities for socialization, advocacy and self help.
We aim to promote self efficacy and to provide opportunities for self expression, education, socialization and emotional support. Participants are encouraged to exercise their self determination, right to personal choice, dignity, and the right to enjoy community experiences.
UA does not provide treatment, but does provide a wide range of activities that will assist participants to improve their quality of life and their ability to live in the community.
